sweet baby boy

oh sweet baby collier. how i do love thee. how i love your parents, especially your mama. how i love your sweet smell of newborn-ness. how i loved to hold and sway and double bounce you to sleep during our long visit, and then cradle you in my arms for hours while you slept so your mommy and daddy could get a much needed break. you, my little peanut, are absolute perfection. you remind me so much of harper when she was that little, and you make me want another beautiful little so. darn. bad.

over the week-and-a-half that my cousin, katie, and her husband, kenny, were in town for katie's father's funeral, i snuggled up this little guy as much as i could. i never officially got a newborn session in, there just didn't seem to be the time. and i'm super bummed that i didn't get a photo of him in the hat that i knitted for him. (i'd been working on that since march, and finally finished it-it was my secret little project. we put it on him the first night they got in town. it was a trite big, but he'll grow into it.) but, here are some random photos that i did manage to take of him during our visits.

he was only 6 pounds, 5 ounces when he was born but he's growing at warp speed, and i just love the chin rolls in this one.

awesome!!! (And don't worry, newborn shoots aren't all they're cracked up to be :) My faves are the ones of him sleeping on dad's(?) shoulder, and the last one where the light is shining on the itty bitty peach fuzz on his ear. All so sweet, great job Em!

I think our 50mm's are making our jobs a little easier --I"m liking my new one so far and glad i went w/ the G. It's a little heavier, but like how it focuses internally b/c I was always getting my fingers in the way of the f/1.8 when it shifted as it focused.
