happy 2012!

hard to believe we are coming to the end of 2011.  it's been a busy year for us, and a happy year.  and we're looking forward to more happiness in the new year.

we held our second annual new years eve morning pajama breakfast, and invited our friends mr. jeff, ms. katie, bryce, graham and reed over for breakfast burritos, bread pudding with banana maple sauce, homemade cinnamon rolls, and adults-only mimosas.

and smooching on my little crosby.  he always has a kiss for "baby cosbees."

we ended our visit with a sparkling juice kids toast.
Photobucket

excited that we spent the rest of this day doing nothing but enjoying our little family.  made a nice dinner, snuggled on the blow up mattress in our family room while watching some new movies, and toasted to the memories of last year and the new ones to come.

cheers and happy new year!

girls just wanna have fun

with the marriage of jen and pat, we've gained a niece/cousin.  we are thrilled about this, and decided to have her for a sleepover during our winter break.  last night, jen and pat brought her over, sleeping bag and all.  harper was so excited and couldn't stop talking about how mallory was coming over and they were going to eat ice cream, watch movies and sleep on the blow up mattress in the family room.  and that's pretty much what they did.

Photobucket

they logged screen time on the DS and iPad, watched the smurfs while munching on popcorn and ice cream sundaes, slept in til after 8 o'clock, were served a pancakes and smoothies breakfast-in-(blow-up) bed.

Photobucket Photobucket

and got pedicures from emily's mobile spa. : )

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

can't wait to do it again soon.

{side note: actually, i'm blogging right now from that very blow up mattress, harper slumbering next to me.  we have decided to leave it up for a few days.  it's too fun not to.  especially for tomorrow night, where we can huddle together to ring in 2012 while watching the ball drop and snuggling with our (most likely sleeping) girls.}

tea for two

a bit of a delayed post...

we had a tea party on our summer to-do list and wanted to accomplish it before summer was behind us and fall rolled around.  so we invited our girlfriends kellie and anna over for a very fine tea party, complete with dress up clothes, fine china, tea sandwiches and cupcakes.

Photobucket

the girls feasted on pb&j while the moms enjoyed pb&m (marshmallow) sandwiches, along with fruit kabobs and veggies.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

they got to ice their cupcakes themselves in chocolate frosting.  lots of chocolate frosting.

Photobucket

since anna is dairy-free, we were introduced to these aaa-mazing cupcakes by stonybrook kitchen.  coconut oil was substituted for butter and made them absolutely delish.

Photobucket

and no tea party is complete without jewelry and hats.  these were located in my mom's basement, and belonged to my grandmother on my dad's side.

Photobucket Photobucket

fabulous friends.  hope it always stays that way.

hats off

no doubt about it, we love our hats.  particularly these new black and white with red flower accent ones that were just gifted to us by a very talented friend.  so when she mentioned to me that she was thinking of adding a charity to her business, i completely cheered her on and offered to advertise right here on my bloggity blog.

and so, i introduce to you little loopholes and its new buy one, give one program.  for every hat purchased, little loopholes will donate a hat to a child in need.  what a fabulous gift.  purchase one for you, for your daughter, for your niece, for a friend, and feel good knowing that a child who really needs one gets some warmth this winter, too.

six and seven

heavens, before this girl turns 8 months, i better post these photos from months 6 and 7.

she's our sweet, happy cuddly one.

always in wonder and awe of everything around her, taking it all in.

Photobucket

always has a smile for anyone who says hello.

Photobucket

always curious and exploring.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

still loves her feet.

Photobucket

still loves her tummy and her superwoman flight.

Photobucket

still showing the urge to crawl, but not quite there yet.  she has a mean one-armed army crawl, though, and can zip to a spotted tag on any toy or object faster than you can blink.  her daycare room is missing all the tags they used to organize the toy bins because crosby has yanked them all off.

Photobucket

she is pure happiness and sheer delight, and brings so much love.

Photobucket

at 7 months, she has grown more hair.  she has grown a bit longer.  she adores her big sister.

Photobucket

she has popped 2 bottom teeth and will mouth anything she can get her hands on.

Photobucket

she is still working on her sitting and crawling, but she makes her voice known with the best of 'em.  her favorite chant right now?  dadadadadadadadadadada.  and being that michael misses 2 bedtimes a week because of class, i have a hunch that he secretly adores that she is gearing to say his name first.  and i'm cool with it.  several people, including this mama, have also sworn that she has said ada, or "all done."

Photobucket

she is magic.  she is yummy.  she is love.  she is our little c.

harper and crosby were completely exhausted most of the day.  harper told me before the ceremony, mommy, i'm having such a hard time because i'm so, so tired.  i asked her to walk down the aisle and taggie would be waiting and then she could nap in my lap during mass.  she did it.  walked down, smiles and all.  hopped into my lap, and said she didn't want to nap.  literally 1 minute later, she was down for the count.  but the second wind was acquired at the reception, and she mingled and socialized.

and danced.  that's all she wanted to do.  she only asked to dance.

Photobucket

after a trip to the chocolate fountain, the second wind blew out and it was time to take the girls home.  we were so happy to have our wonderful cousin and sitter, sarah, back for the night to take care of and stay with the girls so that michael and i could celebrate with family the entire reception.
